Local Food Production Initiatives

Becoming more locally sufficient with food production has numerous positive benefits. For that reason, it is a core passion of Icarus Heights. If we could center our business around food production alone, we would do that, but we just don’t have the infrastructure in place as of yet… though we are working on expanding our capabilities whenever time allows. Anything we grow that our family doesn’t utilize will be made available to the community at large.

By producing more of our own food in and around this community, we become more resilient, healthier, connected and friendly to the Earth. On top of all that, regenerative agriculture (in our opinion) is one of the most rewarding and enjoyable activities available.

We hope to share our mountain growing techniques, the the techniques of others around our county, and also compile a database of all the food producers in and around Teller County so everyone can better support the endeavors that are already off of the ground.
